Understand the construction
Double-wall glasses have a second layer around the drinking chamber. Judge describes the space in its double-wall range as an insulating air pocket. If that is the feature you want, look for an explicit double-wall specification rather than assuming every clear coffee glass has it.
Material and construction are separate questions. A listing may describe tempered glass or borosilicate glass, while another field explains the wall construction. Neither a familiar brand name nor the word “glass” answers both questions. Our comparison leaves a construction field unconfirmed where the primary listing does not establish it.
Think about your drinking routine. If you usually finish your coffee quickly and want one glass for several drinks, insulation may not be your deciding feature. If you prefer to linger over a latte, a double-wall design may be worth comparing. We have not measured temperature retention, so we do not assign promises such as “stays hot for an hour.”
Compare size and care
Look at external dimensions alongside capacity. The space between two walls is not extra drink capacity. Two glasses with the same quoted volume can occupy different amounts of room on a tray or shelf.
Care is a separate check again. For example, IKEA lists dishwasher and microwave compatibility for its 365+ glass mug; that is a specification for that product, not permission to treat every clear mug identically. Read the instructions supplied with the precise model and finish.
Choose a handle according to your preferred grip rather than using wall count as a substitute for handling advice. Product photographs can help you understand the shape, but they cannot tell you how comfortable it will feel in your hand.
Choose for your routine
A sensible shortlist has the construction you want, the size you need and a washing routine you will follow. It does not need to win every possible category.
